Shell presented to Council as a delegation to discuss the operations that occurred in 2017 and what they will be completing in 2018. Shell does have a Community Grant Program for Non-profit organizations for up to $25,000 that they are promoting.
The Business Support Network presented as a delegation to discuss the role of a Business Support Network within the Town.
Council gave third and final reading to Bylaw 805-2018 Campground Bylaw. Seasonal sites will be available for renting on May 1, 2018.
Council made the decision to build the new Ball Diamonds by the Multi-Use facility. There is ample room to construct 4 diamonds as required, and there is ample parking at the multi-use and also a place to allow overnight camping – without fires of course!
With the tragic events that occurred on April 6th, 2018 involving the Humboldt Broncos Hockey Team, Council has directed Administration to lower the flags to half-mast for 15 days in honor of the 15 young men and coaches who passed in the accident. Council will also be sending a letter of condolences to the Town of Humboldt Mayor and Council sending our deepest sympathy.
