Chevron presented to Council an update on the 02-21 Pad site just south east of Town. They will be completing a Rig move on December 20th, and will spud by the end of the year, completions are expected by end of Q1 2019.
Millar Western presented to Council to inform them that they have received their Certificate of Variance from the Minister of Environment and Parks, which is allows them to re-commission and operate the Fox Creek Wood Burner for a period of 18 months.
One of the Town vehicle’s will be outfitted with a new wrap as part of a marketing plan to put Fox Creek’s name out there. The vehicle will have the Town of Fox Creek on it, as well as the Town logo. This vehicle will be used to drive to various locations for conferences and seminars as advertising.
Council has adopted an Interim Operating Budget. This is based on the 2018 estimate of $12,291,316. This will be in place until the 2019 Operating Budget is adopted.
Council will be preparing a letter of support to be sent to our MP and the Minister of Natural Resources to support federal funding to contain the Mountain Pine Beetle. The population of Pine Beetles in Alberta has been rapidly growing and immediate intervention is required to lower the risks of wildfires, damaging watersheds and loss of jobs.
