Council to file a Statement of Concern regarding proposed well site

Fox Creek Town Council has formed an ad-hoc committee in response to the second notification from Chevron Canada regarding their intent to proceed with drilling  and hydraulic fracturing operations 1.25 km south of Fox Creek.

The committee, comprised of Councillor Robin Gervais, CAO Roy Dell and Councillor Kim Caouette will review Fox Creek’s rights, responsibilities and objections to the project with the intention of filing a Statement of Concern to the Alberta Energy Regulator (AER).

The process requires that Statements of Concern be submitted after Public Notice of Application is made.  Chevron has not, yet, made that application.

Community members may also submit a Statement of Concern, or a Pre-application Statement at any time prior to official application. More information about how to compose and submit statements is provided at the AER’s website.
