About Reaching Home:

Reaching Home is the federal government’s homelessness prevention and reduction strategy that commenced in April 2019. The Rural Development Network (RDN) manages the Rural and Remote funding in Alberta for this initiative. RDN supports municipalities, non-profits, First Nation communities, and Métis Settlements working on homelessness projects outside Alberta’s seven major cities.

Since its launch, Reaching Home has expanded significantly, thanks to additional federal investments. RDN has supported over 80 unique projects and distributed COVID-19 emergency funding to communities, shelters, and organizations impacted by the pandemic. This funding has also enabled RDN to research the connection between rural and urban homelessness and to develop educational and practical resources for rural and remote communities in Alberta and nationwide.

The Town of Fox Creek is committed to utilizing these funds effectively to support our community and those in need, ensuring that everyone has access to essential services and resources.
