TOWN OF FOX CREEK RECEIVES $200,000 GRANT FOR FireSmart INITIATIVES

The Town of Fox Creek is proud to announce that it has successfully received a grant for FireSmart initiatives for the second consecutive year. This achievement comes through collaboration with the Forest Resource Improvement Association of Alberta (FRIAA), resulting in an approval of $200,000 dedicated to vegetation management.

This significant grant and project have garnered robust support from Alberta Forestry and Fox Creek’s Fire Department, underscoring the collective commitment to enhancing fire safety and resilience within our community.

The vegetation management project will focus on the removal of dead and down trees, selective harvesting, and thinning of trees in the designated areas. These critical activities are designed to mitigate the risk of wildfires, contributing to the ongoing efforts to protect the town’s vital infrastructure.

The Town of Fox Creek is dedicated to maintaining the safety and well-being of its residents through proactive measures and strategic partnerships. This project represents a crucial step in our ongoing efforts to safeguard our community against the threat of wildfires.
