This spring, forest companies ANC Timber (Alberta Newsprint Company), Millar Western Forest Products Ltd., and West Fraser Timber Co. (Blue Ridge Lumber and Alberta Plywood) will be holding a series of Joint Open Houses to share forestry operating plans for the year ahead. Taking place in Fox Creek on Wednesday May 1, 2019, these open houses provide the public with the opportunity to review each company’s planned activities in road development, harvesting, hauling, reforestation and herbicide treatment for the 2018-2019 forestry year.
In addition to sharing its annual operating plan, Blue Ridge Lumber will be seeking input into its 2019 Detailed Forest Management Plan (DFMP), which is currently under development. The DFMP is a high-level forestry plan that will define overall harvest levels and locations over the next 10 years on the Blue Ridge Lumber FMA.
