Tax Installment Pre-Authorized Payment Plan

OVERVIEW:

  • an optional plan allowing you to pay your taxes in 12 monthly instalments instead of a single yearly payment
  • first five monthly payments (January to May) will be estimated based on your previous year’s taxes
  • once Tax Notices are issued, any adjustments required as a result of the annual levy will be spread out over the last seven payments of the year
  • this will keep taxes current and paid in full by December 31 of each year
  • no penalties will be applied while the Pre-Authorized Payment agreement is active and adhered to
  • no charge for this service
  • can cancel at any time with written notice

ELIGIBILITY:

  • prior years taxes including all charges, penalties and/or any outstanding utility arrears transferred to your tax account must be paid in full
  • payments can only be made through automatic withdrawal from your bank account
    • credit cards, cheques and EFTS are not accepted as part of this program
  • an agreement must be signed prior to enrollment

HOW TO ENROLL:

  1. Submit a signed Tax Installment Pre-Authorized Payment Plan Agreement including a void cheque or your financial institution’s pre-authorization form
    1. Dropped off at Town of Fox Creek Administration Office
    2. Emailed to ru@foxcreek.ca
    3. Mailed to PO Box 149, Fox Creek, AB, T0H 1P0

HOW IT WORKS:

  • Payments are withdrawn from you bank account on the 15th of each month so long as you are enrolled in the program
  • Payments are automatically adjusted in January and June
  • Current year’s payments are outlined on your annual Tax Notice
  • Payment will continue to be withdrawn so long as an active agreement is in place, no need to re-enroll annually
